1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and L25 Limited (trading as "CasePattern"), a company registered in England and Wales with registered address at St James House, Hollinswood Road, Telford, TF2 9TZ ("we", "our", "us"), governing your access to and use of the CasePattern website and Financial Ombudsman Service analytics platform (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using our Service, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use our Service.
2. Definitions
In these Terms, the following definitions apply:
"Account" means a unique account created for you to access our Service.
"AI-Generated Content" means content, analysis, insights, visualisations, or reports that are created or produced through artificial intelligence technologies used in the Service.
"Content" means any information, data, text, software, graphics, or other materials that can be accessed through the Service.
"FOS Data" means publicly available information from the Financial Ombudsman Service that is collected, analysed, and presented through our Service.
"Intellectual Property Rights" means patents, rights to inventions, copyright and related rights, trademarks, trade names and domain names, rights in get-up, goodwill and the right to sue for passing off, rights in designs, rights in computer software, database rights, rights to preserve the confidentiality of information (including know-how and trade secrets) and any other intellectual property rights, in each case whether registered or unregistered and including all applications (or rights to apply) for, and renewals or extensions of, such rights and all similar or equivalent rights or forms of protection which subsist or will subsist now or in the future in any part of the world.
"Subscription" means your purchase of access rights to the Service for a specified period.
"User Content" means any content, including saved searches, notes, and custom parameters, that you upload, create, or modify while using the Service.
3. Account Registration and Eligibility
3.1 Account Creation
To access our Service, you must register for an account. When registering, you must provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
3.2 Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to enter into these Terms. If you are registering on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity to these Terms.
3.3 Account Security
You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for restricting access to your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of security.
4. Subscriptions and Payment
4.1 Subscription Plans
We offer various subscription plans. Features and limitations of each plan are described on our pricing page. We reserve the right to modify, terminate, or otherwise amend our offered subscription plans.
4.2 Fees and Payment
All fees are quoted in Pounds Sterling (£) and are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated. You agree to pay all fees associated with your chosen subscription plan. Payment must be made by the methods specified on our website.
4.3 Billing Cycle
Subscription fees are charged in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on the subscription plan selected. You authorise us to charge your designated payment method for all fees due.
4.4 Automatic Renewal
Unless you notify us before the end of the applicable subscription period, your subscription will automatically renew, and you authorise us to charge the applicable fee using your designated payment method.
4.5 Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us or using the cancellation feature within your account settings. Cancellation will be effective at the end of your current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial subscription periods.
4.6 Fee Changes
We may change our fees at any time. We will provide you with advance notice of any fee changes. Your continued use of the Service after the fee change becomes effective constitutes your agreement to pay the modified fees.
5. Acceptable Use
5.1 Compliance with Laws
You agree to use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and these Terms.
5.2 Prohibited Activities
You must not:
Use the Service in any manner that could disable, overburden, or impair the Service
Use any robot, spider, crawler, scraper, or other automated means to access the Service
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any portion of the Service or any systems or networks connected to the Service
Engage in any activity that interferes with or disrupts the Service
Use the Service to infringe any intellectual property rights
Use the Service to transmit any malicious code, virus, or harmful data
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Service
Sublicense, resell, rent, lease, transfer, or assign the Service without our prior written consent
Use the Service for any unlawful or unauthorised purpose
5.3 Professional Use
As a professional user, you agree to:
Use the Service in accordance with applicable professional standards and ethics
Not misrepresent the capabilities or limitations of the Service to clients or third parties
Apply professional judgement when using information obtained through the Service
6. Content and Intellectual Property
6.1 Our Intellectual Property
The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by L25 Limited and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership of any intellectual property rights in our Service or the content you access.
6.2 Limited Licence
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service as permitted by these Terms, strictly for your internal business purposes.
6.3 FOS Data
Our Service provides access to and analysis of publicly available FOS data. We do not claim ownership of this data but have made substantial investments in collecting, organising, and presenting it in a unique format. You may use insights gained from this data for your professional purposes but may not systematically extract or scrape the raw data.
6.4 User Content
You retain ownership of any User Content you submit through the Service. By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display such User Content for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.
6.5 Feedback
If you provide feedback or suggestions regarding the Service, you grant us an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully-paid, worldwide licence to use and incorporate such feedback without restriction.
7. AI-Generated Content and Disclaimers
7.1 AI-Generated Content
The Service extensively uses artificial intelligence technologies to analyse Financial Ombudsman Service decisions and generate insights, analytics, and reports. You acknowledge and agree that:
a) A substantial portion of the content provided through the Service is generated using AI technologies; b) AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and should be critically evaluated; c) The quality and accuracy of AI-generated content depends on various factors, including the quality of input data and limitations of AI models; d) You will not rely exclusively on AI-generated content for making significant professional decisions without appropriate review and verification; e) We may modify or update our AI technologies at any time, which may affect the nature or presentation of AI-generated content.
7.2 No Legal Advice
The Service provides tools for analysing FOS decisions but does not constitute legal advice. Professional users are responsible for applying their professional judgement when using information obtained through the Service.
7.3 Warranty Disclaimer
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any information or analysis provided through the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we expressly disclaim all warranties, representations and conditions of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of Liability
8.1 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, L25 Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
a) Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; b) Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; c) Any content obtained from the Service; or d) Unauthorised access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
8.2 Cap on Liability
In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service exceed the amount paid by you to us during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
8.3 Exclusions
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: a) Death or personal injury caused by our negligence; b) Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or c) Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless L25 Limited and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, and fees (including reasonable solicitors' fees) arising from or relating to:
a) Your use of the Service; b) Your User Content; c) Your violation of these Terms; or d) Your violation of any rights of another person or entity.
10. Term and Termination
10.1 Term
These Terms shall remain in full force and effect while you use the Service or maintain an account.
10.2 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by following the instructions on the Service or by contacting us.
10.3 Termination by Us
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.
10.4 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
11. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website or by sending you an email. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. General Provisions
13.1 Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
13.2 Jurisdiction
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13.3 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
13.4 No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of such right or provision.
13.5 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under these Terms, in whole or in part, without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms at any time without notice.
13.6 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other legal notices or additional terms and conditions or policies published by us on the Service, shall constitute the entire agreement between you and us concerning the Service.
